A candelabra in the Huntington Mansion
When my mom and I both agreed that we needed a fun girls weekend together we tossed around a visit to some of our usual locales, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Malibu and L.A. Oddly we couldn't get off the fence and make a decision so we decided to sleep on it and connect the next day. I had almost forgotten about our need for a decision when I got a text that said, Pasadena! I was sold when she mentioned something about a tea house and an old mansion. We ended up having one of the best weekends together filled with amazing food, shopping, exploring, museums, art, movies and making new friends—something my mom is exceptionally good at. Here's some snaps from our Pasadena girls weekend. See my list of favorites below!
Creme brulee French Toast at Julienne.
Details from the Huntington Mansion.
The Father of The Bride house.
Colorful pillows at Maude Woods on Holly Street. Tons of fun vintage finds here!
Therapy, a clothing boutique on Holly Street that had just about all my favorite lines.
We spent our last day exploring the Norton Simon museum, which is home to some of my favorite Degas ballet pieces.
Signs of fall were everywhere.

What a lovely girls weekend. Degas sculptures make me so nostalgic for my ballet dancing days. Are you a dancer?
So jealous you got to see the Father of the Bride house! And now I want to watch those movies!
I would never think of Pasadena for a getaway but now I must go - if only to visit the Father of the Bride House and that adorable boutique! This post has me craving a mother/daughter trip too. ;)
Awesome! It would be so fun to do a girls weekend with my mom. I need to plan it now :)

That ballerina statue is pretty amazing. The whole weekend looks like a blast.
The Father Of The Bride house has to be one of my all time favourite movie houses...
Its something a London girl living in a pokey flat could only dream of for when she is all grown up!
